Blending Afropop, soul and alternative R&B, SILK presents ru. as an artist unafraid to embrace her softness while recognising the strength that comes with it. The project explores femininity, confidence, emotional growth and the importance of accepting oneself without limitations.
The EP features five tracks: “Entertainer,” “Girly Girl,” “Colours,” “Falling,” and “Adam.” Each song contributes a different perspective to the project's overall message, moving between self-expression, attraction, romantic feelings and the uncertainties that come with relationships.
On SILK, ru. combines melodic vocals with contemporary African rhythms and soulful musical elements, creating a sound that reflects both her personality and artistic direction. Rather than limiting herself to one subject or mood, she uses the project to explore different sides of her identity and experiences.
The release also builds on the foundation established by her earlier songs, including “i think i love you” and “Woman,” as she continues to develop her presence in Nigeria's evolving alternative pop and R&B scene.
With SILK, ru. delivers a personal introduction to her artistry, inviting listeners to embrace individuality, celebrate femininity and recognise the strength that can exist beneath softness.
