Nasty C Releases Deluxe Edition of “Free” Album
South African rapper Nasty C has released the deluxe edition of his album Free, expanding the project that first debuted in September 2025. The new version adds several additional tracks and offers listeners a broader look into the artist’s creative direction during this period of his career.
The original album marked an important milestone for the Durban-born artist, as it was his first major independent release after departing from Def Jam Recordings. With the deluxe edition, the total number of songs on the project increases to 22 tracks, giving fans more content while maintaining the themes introduced in the original release.
Among the new additions are songs such as “No Typo,” “Shmokin 2.0,” and “Head Up 2.0,” the latter featuring the renowned South African ensemble Soweto Gospel Choir. These tracks continue the album’s blend of modern hip-hop production and reflective storytelling.
Throughout the project, Nasty C explores themes including independence, personal growth, and the responsibilities that come with success. His lyrical style combines melodic flows with rap-driven verses, a characteristic that has defined much of his recent work.
The deluxe edition also highlights the rapper’s growing involvement in music production. Nasty C contributed to the creation of several beats on the album, demonstrating increased creative control over the project’s overall sound. Elements inspired by traditional South African music, including subtle references to Maskandi influences, appear alongside contemporary trap production.
The expanded version also features collaborations with artists such as Blxckie, Usimamane, and Tshego, bringing additional perspectives to the album’s sound.
The Free (Deluxe Edition) is now available on major streaming platforms, offering listeners an extended version of the project and highlighting Nasty C’s evolving role within the modern South African hip-hop scene.
