Portable Claims He’s Helped More People Than Olamide, Davido and Wizkid

Controversial Nigerian singer Portable has claimed that he has provided more support to people in the music industry than some of Nigeria’s biggest stars, including Olamide, Don Jazzy, Wizkid, and Davido.

The Zazu crooner said his idea of helping goes beyond music collaborations, stressing that his charitable efforts extend to supporting the less privileged and everyday Nigerians. According to Portable, many celebrities are disconnected from their fans and fail to acknowledge those who promote their work.

“Many Nigerian celebrities don’t post their fans even if they dance to their songs or promote them,” he said. “But I repost every positive video about me.”

Portable further criticised industry figures who, according to him, only offer assistance on a business basis. He claimed that upcoming artistes often struggle to secure features from established stars, even when they can afford it.

“Even with your money, many celebrities won’t let you feature them as an upcoming artist,” he said. “But I help people freely. I have helped more people in the music industry than Don Jazzy, Olamide, Wizkid, and Davido.”

Explaining his definition of genuine help, Portable said it involves providing shelter, clothing, food, and funding studio sessions — not just transactional arrangements.

“Help is when you see a homeless person and take them home, shelter them, clothe and feed them. You also take them to their first studio session and pay for it. Anything other than that is just business,” he added.

The singer also accused some celebrities of exploiting others for personal gain, claiming they often brand people “ungrateful” when they seek independence.

“Most of the time, when the artists they are using for business decide to move forward on their own, they label them ungrateful. How are they ungrateful? You only used them for business,” he concluded.
