Mavin Records singer-songwriter Magixx has officially released his highly anticipated debut album, I Dream in Colors, a 13-track masterpiece that solidifies his place as one of Afrobeats’ most compelling new voices.
A deeply introspective and emotionally charged body of work, I Dream in Colors takes listeners on a sonic journey through Magixx’s world—one shaped by love, loyalty, paranoia, and an unyielding search for purpose. The album’s sole collaboration comes on track nine, Vibration, where rapper Jeriq adds a raw, street-honed edge to Magixx’s smooth melodies, creating an electrifying fusion of grit and groove.
“I want this album to be remembered as something that helped people through their lives,” says Magixx. “Something that gave them hope, that changed their perspective, that made them push forward. For me, it’s a testament to preaching positivity and perseverance.”
Born Alexander Adelabu, Magixx approaches each song with the precision of a storyteller, blending Afro-fusion elements with soul-baring lyricism. “Every song on this album was intentional,” he explains. “I Dream in Colors simply means I dream big—about the lights, the stadiums, the accolades, the global domination. I see it all, and I’m coming for everything.”
With this debut, Magixx delivers a project that is both a personal manifesto and a universal anthem for dreamers, setting the stage for a remarkable future in global music.
